Naturopathy & Holistic Care for Birds

Naturopathy & Holistic Care for Birds

Why Birds?

Birds are very different in anatomy and health & behaviour.  This is why I decided to create this offer, because there are very less of offerings in Naturopathy for birds. Because they have very less awareness in naturopathy. Even in Veterinary Medicine it`s still a very special topic.

Please note: If you want to become a parrot/parakeet parent, you have to do a lot reasearch first about husbandry, nutrition, behaviour, etc.

The most important thing is to find a very good Avian Doctor.  I can help you with that.

Laboratory

I work together with  Antech and Exomed laboratory for, urine and fecal tests as well feather/scale/fur analyses. Fecal and feather samples can also be sent directly to the laboratory by the pet owner on my behalf - just contact me about this. This is an uncomplicated option.  And stress free for your bird.

Wellness & Preventative Care is a Critical Component to Keeping Your Bird Happy and Comfortable

Often times birds hide their illnesses until it is too late, which makes routine physical examinations critical. By being able to identify and correct husbandry problems and find signs of early illness, it`s possible  to prevent and treat problems earlier for your bird. All too often we see pet birds after they have been ill for weeks or months which makes treating and “fixing” them much more difficult. Earlier detection means a healthier and happier birds!

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine is the healing, alleviation and prevention of diseases and complaints using medicinal plants or their parts or components. (Society for Phytotherapy e.V.)

It can be used in a variety of ways in naturopathy and can achieve amazing effects and treatment successes.

Small injuries and many illnesses can be treated wonderfully in this way and herbal medicine can also be used to supplement conventional medical treatment.

Acupressure

Thanks to the work of the veterinarian Dr. Michal Partington, first of all, bird acupuncture/acupressure (I prefer to talk about acupressure here on my site, as I would never treat birds with needles) brought awareness. We owe him the explanations of the acupressure points on the bodies of birds, as the Veterinary Acupuncture Society had published all Chinese writings for mammals to date.

For birds I use Laser or Color Laser or press, massage the acupressure points gently with hands and fingers.

Behavioral Therapy

There are many reasons why a pet bird may exhibit behavioral problems such as plucking, screaming, stereotypy or self-harming behavior. The cause must first be clarified: is it of a psychological nature - such as loneliness, stress due to incorrect husbandry conditions, incorrect imprinting or is it of a physical nature such as, for example, an illness or pain.

Flower Essences

They are actually part of Flower Therapy but I would like to mention them separately because they are so wonderfully helpful. Flower Essences are great companions for everyday life or to help with illnesses, even for our animals. The birds can be involved in the selection of suitable Flower Essences. I use the all-natural Australian Bush Flowers for parrots and/or Bach Flowers for any kind of birds and also use them for myself and my own birds, so I can use and offer them wholeheartedly.

Frequency Medicine

This includes frequency therapy like color-and light therapy or sound-and music therapy

Even Reiki belongs to the field of frequency medicine and energy healing.  You can read more under Animal Reiki >>Angelic Reiki for birds.

Nutrition & Orthomoleculare Therapy

It´s crucial to offer your birds a proper diet, with vegetables, fruits, seeds, grains. Very important are vitamine supplements to avoid lack of vitamins and minerals what can lead to diverse phyiscal issues and diseases. Sometimes it is necessary to have an avian veterinarian administer injections - in the case of severe vitamin deficiency - or even infusions - e.g. in the case of neurological illnesses, accidents, or first aid.
